Secret compartment cufflinks

Saw these for 1,900 nickels on Fancy.  Very cold war.

After seeing these nickel cufflinks I googled around for other functional cufflinks and found the following (a lot of them can be found on a UK based watch part company):

Movable time and date

Working sand timer

Dice!

Called the Square ball game.  The balls move but I'm not sure this makes it a game.

This one however, is a real puzzle.

Levels in cool blue.

Thermometers

Lighters

Pocket knives... really small ones.

Sufficiently Bizarre

Readers of this blog may know that I (and I'm not alone in this) don't think I've seen a ventriloquist dummy (not the horrible stuffed animal types, but the cool old ones) that wasn't totally creepy - even the ones that aren't meant to be.   These photos were taken by Matthew Rolston and are of puppets from the Vent Haven Museum in Kentucky (I never heard of it, but I'm glad it exists).

Also see this, posted here  in 2011:   I'm sorry ventriloquist dummies are.creepy.

Cool Dioramas

I saw the top one on a blog called silverpebble.   It has a very calming feel.  I can't recall where I found the second one.  It's for the birds (and it changes colors).

Really nice bookends

Cool landscape bookends by artist Garth Borovicka.  They are available from Anthropology.   Hmmm.  These would look good in my apartment.
